INVER
Inver, made up of three highly acclaimed folk instrumentalists, deliver brand new music rooted in the Celtic style. Rune Barslund (whistles & accordion) and Kevin Lees (fiddle) combine the familiar traditional sound of fast flowing tunes together with unique self-composed material and tasteful arrangements, giving the band a particular sound in the genre. The singing tone of the violin and the soft preciseness of the whistle harmonise beautifully in slow, dreamy pieces, whilst the addition of the punchy accordion adds an underlying drive to keep everyone’s feet tapping. The trio is made up with Simon Nyberg (guitar) adding sparkle and complexity, often challenging the musical arrangement whilst giving a very modern feel to their sound. Expect captivating arrangements, a variety of musical emotions, and musicianship of the highest order.
D.u.K
D.u.K are an exciting, rocking six-piece folk ensemble from Denmark and the UK, playing the best tunes from both traditions. Consisting of four fiddles, piano and double bass, the band quite simply use raw groove and swing to create an eclectic mix of foot stomping music, from slow lyrical airs to driving jigs, reels and polkas. As well as using original compositions and modern arranging techniques, D.u.K definitely don’t forget the strong roots and traditions whilst combining it with their fresh approach to modern folk music.
Music for Audio Visual Purposes
Composing, recording a releasing various albums and tracks for AV purposes. In recent years this has been in collaboration with Rune Barslund and Carsten Rosenlund, producing a variety of atmospheric and emotional music using violins, violas, flutes, whistles, accordions, guitars, bouzoukis, mandolins, keys and soundscapes.
THE GOOD TUNE
The home of live recorded folk music videos. Setup back in 2019, The Good Tune is a YouTube-channel featuring recorded live performance of some of the great folk tunes from around the world.
The channel features house players Kevin Lees and Sebastian Bloch, plus guest appearances from local and current touring musicians who have been invited to play together with Kevin and Sebastian
FIDDLE 8
Fiddle 8 are a formidable line up featuring eight of the leading exponents on the Danish folk music scene. The eight members have for the last 15 years toured the world with some of the finest names in folk. Now, all have returned to their local island of Fyn and a collaboration of their forces has produced a supergroup.
Fiddle8 are ready to meet an audience in a fiddle extravaganza, showcasing everything from raw, swinging traditional Danish tunes, to heartwarming original songs - expect an energetic feast of music!
